I may be a little late in talking about this but the news about Christina Aguilera “Botching” the National Anthem is profound and yielded an immediate opinion and thought by me but at the same time deserved a bit of a yawn.
None-the-less, the topic has been on my mind and there a few things that need to be shared about this and put out there.
My immediate opinion, thoughts, and feelings were
WHO GIVES A RIP??!!! and… GET OVER IT.
There are so many factors that can be going in to this National Anthem mess up it’s not even funny.
The first and most important thing to acknowledge is that she’s frickin’ human and stop being such Jackasses about the whole thing like you’re god (lower case intentional).
Do you sing? Do you speak in public? Don’t start saying that she’s a professional and that she should be used to it by now because you don’t know what may have happened to her 5 minutes before going out there. Maybe her little girl threw up and has a fever. Maybe through all of the hustle and bustle she heard someone in the stands say, “You’re a whore!” Would those things cause your mind to wander? I know they would mine.
I’m not even trying to make excuses for her, I’m just saying the truth. No one even knew she messed up until they told us later! You can tell by the tears (not cheers but tears) and applaud.
The second BIG thing to be thinking about is do YOU know the National Anthem? A poll said that 75% of Americans were pissed at what happened.
I bet 70% of those Americans don’t even know the National Anthem and if they happen to know it I bet they can’t sing worth anything and to put those two items together in the same room is already a feat.
NEXT… Why does that song mean ANYTHING to YOU?? Do YOU know its
history or are you just following 90% of the rest of the people that have no reason for their anger except that everyone else is angry and you’re supposed to be angry? If you DO happen to know the history and you love this country, WHY do you love this country?? I know my thoughts and reasons, about 9 other people I know also have their reasons, but what about you? Don’t give me the same ol’ CRAP of, “Because it’s a great country.” Are you 3 years old? Do you have a real answer yet? Take your time but DO give a real answer. “Because it’s the greatest country in the world” is also NOT an answer. 90% of the people who say that have NEVER even visited anywhere outside of the U.S., much less, LIVED outside of the U.S. so you have nothing to compare it to and any attempt at that being an “educated” answer is out of the window.
Now listen, I appreciate people appreciating and being happy with what they have but not at the expense of other people’s happiness and making other people feel like trash.
Remember. Just because someone else is making fun of someone doesn’t mean you should jump in and bully too.
Remember #2 Just because someone is a celebrity doesn’t make them any less human.
So… Pamela is making magic right here in Dallas, TX. It’s all over the radio and all over the internet and check it out, all over the blogs.
For some reason I felt like commenting on this. At this point I don’t have a clue why.
But what first hit my mind is that it’s a great networking possibility and I found an awesome little ticket discount on Groupon for it!
Pamela Anderson discount Groupon ticket??? Wild. Pretty funny at the same time. Don’t know quite what to think of it. It could be a night of fun and meeting some quality people or it could be a night of a complete waste of time and money where you don’t remember what happened the night before. As I think this through I have a feeling there may be more time wasted than anything but if you’re a brave soul and think you can get a business connection or ROI on this one then be my guest. As for me, I’m hangin’ tight right here at the crib, drinkin’ tea and takin’ it easy with my wife and boy. How ’bout them apples?
Here’s the link to the Groupon coupon. Not like I get a cut of this but another strange thing I just felt like doin’ for ya.
http://www.groupon.com/dallas/ 31 Folks already bought it at this point. Crazy. (but no talk on that one)
Welcome to Dallas, Pam =)
