America’s Next Top Model: CW Networks CRAP and AWESOMENESS

You'd love to be one of those girls, huh? Let me show you how...from my perspective.

It seems that there are a lot of “lady topics” coming up lately, huh?  Well, I AM married and those topics are relevant topics to talk about as well.

So America’s Next Top Model was being watched in my home.  -Ok, fine.  I was watching it one lovely morning while eating breakfast with my wife-and there are two things that bothered the freak out of me.

Thing #1:  There is a Modern Orthodox Jewish girl on the show and there is a conflict

Thing #2:  There is a girl on the show with issues about cutting her hair.

Ok, so there always seems to be a girl on the show that has issues with cutting her hair.  Here’s my issue though.  I understand that she chose to be there and that that is what happens and that’s what the “industry demands” blah blah blah.

Isn’t there a song by some girl singing about, “Blah blah blah?”  She was singing about this.

These girls are slaves of the industry and Tyra Banks and everyone else is looking at them as if they’re the idiots because they don’t conform to the ways of the industry.

CRAZY TALK!!

How about this ladies, look at THEM like they’re the idiots the next time they ask you to do something that you don’t feel comfortable doing.

Here’s the thing.

Oh, by the way, this is the same thing that drove me crazy with the Orthodox Jewish girl.  It’s her own decision but here is my point.  They asked her if she observed the Shabbat (Jewish Sabbath day), which is from Friday night to Saturday night.  She said, yes.  They then told her that these models work every day, is that a problem?  She then said that she could do that.

Once again.  Here’s the thing.

Ladies, gents, anyone in the industry.  YOU make the industry, don’t let it make you.  Don’t just let them slap you around and make you feel like an idiot because you want to be you.  I understand that part where you play the game until you’re “big enough” to change the game but if you aren’t who you are now you’ll find yourself being a slave and complacent by the time you are big enough.  Take a look at Tyler Perry.  He created his own way of doing things from the start because the system just wasn’t for him.

This post is for everyone in the acting, modeling, and entertainment industry.  I’m telling you to be you and to not be ashamed about it and don’t apologize.  Someone can say, “yeah well, where did that get you?”  I’d respond with I’m producing my own magic with two separate companies and working on this one as we speak.  The big part of this process is figuring out what I want and what I feel like I can do without getting bored.

I’m also working on a $70 Million dollar film script that is going to be one of the masterpieces of my life, if G-d blesses.

So.  If you need some support or you want to tell me your story please leave your message below.  This is a big problem and is causing a lot of people to hate themselves later on because it just doesn’t work out the way you thought it would.  One of the girls on the show got sent home after getting her hair cut off.  Her point was that she went through all of that pain and then went home.

It’s a growing experience for her but…

Be You.

Focus Up.

Glee… Sue Sylvester as the Grinch & A Very Glee Christmas

All right.  I admit it.  I enjoy ‘Glee’.
And when I say enjoy, I mean that I watch it every morning Monday through Friday.
How do I do that?  Well, as much as it seems like I’m in the know on every topic on the planet, I am and I’m definitely not at the same time.
Take a note of this.  If everyone is doing it, I’m not.  If everyone isn’t doing it, I’ll take a look.  That little subconscious motto that I didn’t realize seems to govern every one of my choices, worked in my favor for this little Teenage Horror Workshop because of all of the back episodes that I never saw.
Here’s the amazing thing and the saving grace part.  I’m an actor.  That’s right.  Surprise, surprise.  I’ve worked on and in film, television, theater, musical theater, Shakespeare, Voice-overs, video games, etc. etc.  So…  Several of my acting buddies were into this little number and it wreaked of Christopher Guest and “Best in Show” and I owed it to the entire Musical Theater community to give it a whirl.
It paid off.  This show is pretty awesome, funny, and so on.  So many good points it’ll take a few later posts to ‘get the led out’ and spill it.
And now for the BUNK METER.
What the heck with all of the kissing and sex and all of that again?  Once again.  I’m sounding like  a prude and I’m not but it’s frickin’ nasty to see these kids making out all of the time.
Heads up though.  Most of these cats aren’t ‘kids’ after all.  Some of them are 27 years old so Ok on that note.  BUT.  They’re portrayed as being teens and that’s the one thing that grosses me out about this show.
Oh yeah, another thing-hehe-  Remember that post where I was talking about the message that is being sent through the news?  Same ol’ same ol’ here, y’all.  I’m still waiting for my cigar moment and when I do it’ll be an audio post talking about why ‘the Man’ wants kids to ‘act stupid’ and deal with all of these sex-issues.
Think about it.  That’s all I’m sayin’.

Easily the best execution of a show to date. Sue the Grinch in "A Very Glee Christmas"

Well, I’m off to watch another episode of Glee.  I’m almost caught up, dang it.  Kind of sucks ’cause I won’t be able to have it on demand.  Hmph.
P.S.  Best show so far to me, “A Very Glee Christmas”
Until next time.
Focus Up.
